Customer: Ann Arbor Learning Community, Ann Arbor, Michigan

Ann Arbor Learning Community is a charter school located in Ann Arbor, Michigan sponsored by Eastern Michigan University of Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Need: Install a modern telephone system in the school’s new facility to support 18 classrooms and five administrative offices. The system had to be easy to use by the teachers and support an after hours auto attendant, marketing message on hold and voice mail.

Benefits: Each of the classrooms is outfitted with a digital phone and voicemail for the teacher. This allows the teacher to accept private messages regarding students from their parents.

Each classroom phone has a button for immediate emergency access to the administrative offices.

The administrative offices have the ability to page to an individual classroom or all classrooms on demand. The administrators also have the ability to broadcast a voice message to all of the staff.

The administrators have access to recurrent training on the system held monthly at Ipanema’s Ann Arbor office. This helps as staff transitions occur.

The system replaced a Nortel digital telephone system.
